I remember when women wore dresses every day and pretty aprons when they did housework. They wore lovely hats and beautiful dresses when they went out.
The men wore suits and brimmed hats. They would shape and crease the hat just right. It had to be perfect. Their children’s clothing mirrored theirs on those special occasions. They were all sharp-looking couples with adorable children who always said “please” and “thank you.”
Now, a lot of women have no modesty. Their bulging flesh is out for all to see.
Now, so many men wear torn jeans and faded T-shirts as their daily attire. There is nothing sharp looking about either of those.
The world’s standards and values have changed on every level, it seems. Where once love of God, family and manners were common, now it is self-love, anything goes, and foul language from all ages of individuals.
God help our children and grandchildren. I have great-grandchildren. I wonder what kind of world they’ll be facing. I pray they’ll have the courage to reject the negative influences in their generation and stand strong against them.
The Lord can get you through anything. “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
