Fundraiser a big success; thanks for help

Jennifer Lang

Dixon

The Lee County Council on Aging would like to thank John Walker for making the delicious chili and soup for the March 12 chili, soup supper.

We served more than 210 hungry people at this annual fundraiser.

We also would like to thank the Lee County Council on Aging board members and staff, Dixon Key Club, and Dixon Aktion Club for volunteering their time to help serve. We would not be as successful without all your support.

And thank you to those who came to the Post House Ballroom to enjoy the delicious meal.

We also had a 50/50 raffle that raised $1,000 for the Council on Aging. The winners of the raffle were Tim Broos, who won $800, and Jeremy Blain, who won $200.

Thank you to all who bought tickets; your support is greatly appreciated.

Mark your calendars for the annual Luau Supper Aug. 20.

These supper fundraisers are very important to the Council on Aging; money raised helps support senior services in Lee County.

If you would like to donate your time, money or products, please stop by the Dixon Senior Center or call 815-288-9236.

Once again, thank you to everyone who helped make the chili, soup supper a success. We appreciate each and every one of you.

Note to readers: Jennifer Lang is the activities coordinator at the Dixon Senior Center.
