Amboy Clippers

Coach: Kelly Whitman (7th season)

2013: 16-8 (8-6 Three Rivers)

Postseason: Lost 11-1 to Milledgeville in 1A Dakota Sectional semfinal

Roster

2 Destinee Oenes Sr. 3B/P

3 Kelsie Thurman Sr. 2B/P

4 Sydney Wilhelm Jr. 1B/3B

5 Madeline Ely Jr. SS/OF

7 Taylor Hicks Jr. 2B

10 Courtney Rhine Jr. OF

11 Kennedy Dinges Jr. 2B/OF

13 Julia Setchell Sr. OF

16 Karlee Doege Fr. P/3B

21 Micaela McCoy Sr. CF

22 Hannah McCoy Sr. OF

42 Elizabeth Ortgiesen Jr. P/1B

44 Kaitlyn Liebing Jr. C

Outlook: The Clippers have talent and experience, and are looking to build on three straight regional titles. Freshman Karlee Doege will handle the bulk of the pitching load, so Amboy's hitters and fielders will have to pull their weight until Doege gets acclimated.

Erie-Prophetstown Panthers

Coach: Bob Phelps (1st season)

2013: 14-13 (6-8 Three Rivers)

Postseason: Lost 10-0 to Alleman in 2A Bureau Valley Regional semifinal

Roster

Kylie Ackerman So. P

Shelby Adams Jr. OF

Carlene Butts Jr. OF

Emily Cox So. C

Calya Crane Jr. OF

Ashley Davis Fr. C

Addison Glassburn So. P

Colleen Jacobs Sr. 3B

Kaeli Kovarik Sr. C

Clare Kramer Jr. SS

Bryce McCormick Jr. 1B

Alexondra McCoy Jr. OF

Kennah Meier Jr. P

Olivia Morris Sr. OF

Addison Morse Jr. 2B

Cassandra Reed Jr. OF

Bre Sandrock Sr. 1B

Kali Schroeder Sr. 3B

Alicia Stout So. 1B

Delaney Tegeler So. 3B

Stephanie Thulen So. OF

Outlook: The return of two pitchers, and the addition of two more, have the Panthers looking to improve from a year ago. New coach Bob Phelps sees a lot of excitement from his young – and sizable – squad, and likes the hard work he's seen them put in.

Fulton Steamers

Coach: Jessie Rosenow (1st season)

2013: 7-12 (3-11 Three Rivers)

Postseason: Lost 9-1 to Morrison in 2A Bureau Valley Regional semifinal

Roster

1 Olivia Edfors Sr. P/OF

2 Faith Kennedy Fr. 3B/IF

3 Heidi Holcomb Sr. OF

5 Jenna James Jr. 3B

7 Jaclyn Toureene Jr. CF

16 Ann Renkes Sr. 1B

21 Chelsea Lesniewski Jr. P

23 Maddy Andresen Jr. C

25 Lexie Bennett Jr. OF

33 Jamie Huennekens Jr. 2B

Outlook: Several familiar names dot the Steamers' roster, led by standout shortstop Jenna Jones and starting pitcher Chelsea Lesniewski. Success in other sports has taught these girls how to win, and the athleticism should make defense a strength.

Morrison Fillies

Coach: Tammy Deter (19th season)

2013: 21-4 (13-1 Three Rivers)

Postseason: Lost 7-0 to Alleman in 2A Bureau Valley Regional final

Roster

1 Erin Nelson Jr. OF/P

2 Emma Melton Fr. 2B/OF

4 Brooke Stralow Fr. P/1B

5 Emma Sitzmore Fr. 3B

6 Lauren Vos Fr. C/OF

7 Eryn Young So. OF/2B

8 Michelle Hauser Jr. OF

10 Josie Frias Jr. OF/3B

11 Shannon Finneran Sr. OF/C

12 Rachel Davis Jr. OF/SS

13 Jaeden Workman Fr. SS/C

14 Kassidee Church Fr. P/1B

15 Alexis Fletcher So. 1B/OF

16 Colleen Elfine So. OF

17 Lauren Rice Fr. P/1B

20 Lauren Pannier So. P/OF

21 Hailey Zigler Fr. OF

24 Danika Habben So. OF/3B

26 Chelsea Eads Sr. C

27 Allie Wiersema Sr. P/2B

Outlook: A lot of youth will fill the Fillies' lineup, but that's going to be coupled with some solid senior experience and leadership. Many of the younger girls had older sisters who had plenty of success in their day, and that should provide the impetus for the current players to make a name for themselves and carry on the program's strong tradition.

Newman Comets

Coach: JD Waldschmidt (1st season)

2013: 9-8 (7-7 Three Rivers)

Postseason: Lost 12-9 to Amboy in 1A AFC Regional final

Roster

3 Lakyn Waldschmidt Fr. P/IF

4 Samantha Miller Fr. P/OF

9 Mary Alice Oswalt Sr. IF

10 Sarah Trujillo Jr. OF/IF

11 Madalyn Klein Jr. OF

15 Sarah Walls Jr. OF/IF

18 Abigayle Ammon Jr. OF

22 Mady Ferris Fr. IF/OF

23 Julie Hurd Jr. C

27 Jenna Stevens Jr. IF

31 Stacia Walter Sr. IF

44 Rachel Grennan Sr. IF/OF

Outlook: Two freshmen pitchers will be backed by a versatile defense and some slugging upperclassmen. The Comets lost just two players from last year's regional finalist, and though they were two all-conference performers, new head coach JD Waldschmidt likes his team's chances to compete throughout the season.
