ROCKFORD – The Rockford Symphony Orchestra ends the 2013-14 Rockford Health System Pops Series with “Lights, Cameras … The Oscars,” featuring songs from Academy Award-winning movies.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. March 29 at the Coronado Performing Arts Center and is sponsored by BMO Harris Bank and John Morrissey Accountants. Following the performance, the RSO will host a red carpet party on the stage of the Coronado.

The RSO is joined by two Broadway singers, Nat Chandler and Teri Dale Hansen, for all the selections from movies, including “Titanic,” “Aladdin,” “Rocky,” “Wizard of Oz,” “Gone with the Wind,” and “Chariots of Fire.”

Hansen starred as Magnolia in London’s West End in Harold Prince’s Tony Award-winning production of “Show Boat,” made her Broadway debut in 2002 in “The Boys from Syracuse” and, in that same year, began concertizing with Marvin Hamlisch worldwide.

Chandler starred as Raoul in “Phantom of the Opera,” directed by Harold Prince, and toured nationally as Lancelot in “Camelot.” Chandler has played leading roles in a broad spectrum of American musicals and operetta across the country, including “Kiss Me Kate,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “A Little Night Music,” and more.

Tickets for this concert are available online at or by calling the Rockford Symphony Orchestra Box Office at 815-965-0049. Ticket prices range from $22 to $60. Student tickets are $7.

During the red carpet party, entertainment will be provided by pianist Joel Ross. Attendees will have the chance to meet Chandler and Hansen and members of the RSO, while drinking champagne and sampling theatre candy and desserts under the lights of the Coronado stage.

Tickets for the Red Carpet Party are $35 per person and include a glass of champagne and dessert bar. A cash bar will also be available. Raffle tickets will be on sale. Guests must be 21 or older. Reservations may be made online at or by calling the RSO office at 815-965-0049. Space is limited.
