Body found near Rochelle identified

ROCHELLE – The man whose body was found Monday in a stream near Rochelle has been identified.

The Ogle County Sheriff’s Department has identified him as Phillip M. Rainwater, 32, of Rochelle.

Authorities haven’t found any signs of foul play in Rainwater’s death, according to a sheriff’s news release.

During the investigation, sheriff’s deputies learned that it was believed Rainwater had moved to southern Illinois sometime around Jan. 1, the release said. The investigation remains open.
