AMBOY – Pearl Piller Pfeifer, 92, of Dixon, died Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Green Acres Nursing Home in Amboy. She helped her husband, Robert, farm.

Pearl was born Nov. 8, 1921, in Mendota, the daughter of Leroy and Mabel (Earich) Heinzeroth. She married Robert Piller in 1939 in Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1969. She married Clarence Pfeifer in 1976 in Dixon. He preceded her in death in 2012. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon.

Survivors include one daughter, Judith (Peter) Dougherty of Phoenix; one son, Leslie (Theresa) Piller of Amboy; one brother, Keith (Vina) Heinzeroth of Mendota; four sisters, Ruth Musser, Velma (Don) Schmidt, Joyce Spanier, and Katherine (Leonard) Funfsinn, all of Mendota; six grandchildren; one stepgrandson; and eight great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Robert H. Piller; three brothers; and one sister.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Friday at Merritt Funeral Home in Mendota. Burial will be at Restland Cemetery in Mendota.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
