Polo Student of the Month

Polo Community High School's February Student of the Month is Peyton Taylor.  Art is her favorite class. Her advice to freshmen? "Get involved. Do a sport, be in a play, join a club. The years go by faster when you participate."

Peyton Taylor, 18, of Polo, is Polo Community High School’s February Student of the Month. She is the daughter of Rob and Heather Taylor, and has a sister, Parker Taylor.

Favorite class and teacher: Art class with Jamie Harmon

After graduation: I plan to attend Sauk Valley Community College for 2 years. After that, I’m not 100 percent sure yet.

Paycheck: I work at Dairy Queen.

What is one tip you would give the freshmen? Get involved. Do a sport, be in a play, join a club. The years go by faster when you participate.

Best friend: My mom

Favorite musical group: All Time Low

Favorite actor: Kristen Stewart. I love her.

Favorite TV shows: “American Horror Story” and “Teen Wolf”

Read this: “Paper Town,” by John Green. It made me very excited to graduate and experience life after high school.

Favorite food: Cheese pizza

Biggest fear: Failing

Hobbies: Playing the piano and gymnastics

What would you do with $100,000? Build a new track for the school

I’d like to meet: F. Scott Fitzgerald

Trading places: I would like to trade places with Mr. Faivre and give the students the day off.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be? Back in time to the 1920s. Everyone seemed so happy.

My hero: Alex Gaskarth, lead singer of All Time Low
