Published: Saturday, May 24, 2014 1:15 a.m. CDT

Dillon Daniels, 18, of Amboy, is Amboy High School’s March Student of the Month. He is the son of Curt and Bridget Daniels, and has a brother, Taylor, 20.

Favorite class: Band. Music is my life.

Top teacher: It’s a tie. Both Cynthia Carlson and Elizabeth Scriven are extremely passionate about their profession, and they make their students strive for greatness.

Extracurriculars: Band, 4 years, drum major; chorus, 2 years, vice president; theater, 4 years, 10 performances; National Honor Society, 2 years, secretary; and Spanish Honor Society, 2 years, vice president

After graduation: I plan to attend Sauk Valley Community College, then transfer to major in music business.

Paycheck: Over the summer, I work at Green River Oaks camping resort as a maintenance worker. I do enjoy the work when the weather is favorable.

Haunts: I tend to frequent the high school stage, Arthur’s Deli, and the homes of my band mates for rehearsals.

High school survival guide: Persevere

Useless knowledge: I don’t think I’ll be dissecting fetal pigs anytime soon, but it was  interesting while it lasted.

Secret twin: People say I look like a young Judd Nelson. Some people call me Maurice.

Dream job: I’d like to be a private detective, but there isn’t much call for that around here.

Trading spaces: I’d like to go to Japan someday. The culture really interests me.

Shout out to: The staff of Amboy High School for selecting me for this honor and The First National Bank in Amboy for sponsoring this event.
