DIXON – Thomas L. “Rocky” Danler, 66, of Dixon, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

He was born Aug. 11, 1947, in Hutchinson, Kan., the son of Lawrence and Alma (Lynch) Danler. He married Darlene Zimmerer on Feb. 4, 1978, in Dubuque, Iowa. He worked at Jack Mabley Center in Dixon for 35 years, before his retirement.

He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Dixon, where he served as a lector. He also was a member of Dixon Knights of Columbus Council 690 and the Father Boland Assembly of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He was a former member of the Dixon Evening Lions Club. Tom enjoyed playing his saxophone at the Dixon Senior Center.

He is survived by his wife; one son, Matthew (Holly) Danler of Eldridge, Iowa; one granddaughter, Audrey Danler; two brothers, Michael (Kuniko) Danler of California and Bob Danler of Kansas; and four sisters, Rosemary (Rolland) Martin, Martha (Larry) Dostert, Carolyn (Myron) Ewy, and Judy (Steve) Dewell, all of Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Patrick Danler.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday and the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Anne Catholic Church, with the Rev. Antoni Kretowicz, pastor, officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded. Jones Funeral Home in Dixon is handling arrangements.

Memorials have been established to St. Anne Catholic Church, Hospice of the Rock River Valley, and CGH Health Foundation.
