Parade, party Saturday for St. Patrick's Day

As the song goes, “Baby, it's cold outside,” and this winter has certainly proved so. But on March 15 of our Lord's Year 2014, the Irish will step up to the challenge of warming your hearts and souls.

We will start off this year with the Rock River Valley Shamrock Club's annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. This year's event will start at 3 p.m. March 15 and will wind its way through downtown Dixon, with the destination at the Knights of Columbus in Dixon, where the party will heat up even the coldest of days.

This year the Rock River Valley Shamrock Club is pleased to offer the Irish band, Reilly. The group is full of energy and will get everyone up and moving to help generate some warmth. The Knights of Columbus is also serving corned beef with all the fixings for an additional fee.

Entrance to the party is a monetary donation at the door, and, as in previous years, we will collect canned food items to be donated to the food pantry. Come join the Irish in warming your heart and souls.

Hope to see you at the parade and the party of parties on Saturday.

And as always, if you're lucky enough to be Irish, you're lucky enough. For more information, call Dave at 815-973-7046.
