Naperville loosens ordinance to allow ear piercing

NAPERVILLE (AP) — Naperville residents still won't be able to get tattoos at businesses in town, but a change in a local ordinance will loosen restrictions on what they can have pierced.

City Manager Doug Krieger told the Daily Herald (http://bit.ly/1iagEEv ) that Naperville's ordinance was amended Tuesday to allow ear piercing.

The change was made after the Claire's jewelry and fashion accessories chain asked for permission to pierce ears at its downtown Naperville location.

But the ordinance still forbids other forms of body piercing and tattooing in the Chicago suburb.
