Many of us believe the weather has been changing. The Rock River Open Forum will show the highly acclaimed 75-minute DVD “Chasing Ice” at
6 p.m. Thursday in the Rock Falls Public Library. The public is invited; admission is free.
Highly praised National Geographic photographer James Balog and his collaborators used time-lapse photography to film melting glaciers over many months. It compresses years into seconds, and the changes are startling. The photographed glaciers are in Greenland, Alaska, Montana, and Canada.
After the film, a discussion will follow that hopefully results in some significant concrete actions.
