Vote Rock for Ogle prosecutor

Published: Friday, March 7, 2014 1:15 a.m. CDT

Mike Rock is a family man, honest, [a man of] integrity, dedicated to law enforcement and government professionalism, and concerned for the citizens of Ogle County. Those are a few qualities that come to mind when I think of Mike.

He was appointed Ogle County state’s attorney in January 2013, replacing John B. “Ben” Roe IV, who was selected to become a 15th Judicial Circuit judge. Mike had been the first assistant state’s attorney prior to the appointment.

Mike and I first met at the 2012 Ogle County Fair. Later that year, I was selected as a juror of an attempted murder case. While viewing Mike in action, I believe he handled the case very thoroughly and professionally while representing the defendant.

Ogle County needs a state’s attorney who has criminal trial experience and is able to stand his ground in plea bargaining to carry out the law for the citizens of Ogle County.

Therefore, I support Mike Rock for Ogle County state’s attorney. Please remember to vote March 18.
