Ag store seeks donations for food banks

PROPHETSTOWN – Birkey’s Farm Store will accept donations until April 4 toward a campaign to raise $100,000 for River Bend Food Bank and six other food banks.

To donate to the 60-Day Hunger Drive, visit www.birkeys.com/hunger or go to a local Birkey’s store. In the Sauk Valley, Birkey’s stores are at 200 North St., Prophetstown, and 928 S. Division Ave., Polo.

An open house will be from 7 a.m.to 1 p.m. Thursday at the Prophetstown site. Food bank representatives will be available to speak with guests and accept donations.

On display will be a fully restored 1954 Farmall Super MTA tractor, which will be given away at the end of the hunger drive.
