Larry P. Gipe

MILLEDGEVILLE – Larry Paul Gipe, 76, of Milledgeville, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at Morrison Community Hospital.

Larry was born Oct. 5, 1937, in Sterling, to Ellwood David and Helen May (Grim) Gipe. He married Carol Sue Miller on Aug. 31, 1958, in Chadwick. She preceded him in death on Oct. 26, 2002. Larry was a lifelong farmer who had a love for antique tractors and going on tractor rides. He enjoyed his morning rituals drinking coffee in Milledgeville. Larry was a member of Chadwick First Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Susan Gipe, and one son, Timothy (Karla) Gipe, both of Polo; one brother, Robert (Nancy) Gipe of Pearl City; two granddaughters, Shauna Gipe and Shannon (Tom Dawson) Gipe; and one great-grandson, Cooper Dawson. 

He also was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at McDonald Funeral Home in Milledgeville. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Chadwick First Evangelical Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Christine Schoon and the Rev. Rich Koch co-officiating. Burial will be at Chadwick Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
