Kreider to present autism information

DIXON – Kari Dunn Buron, a nationally-known autism education specialist and author, will conduct a training seminar April 22 at the Dixon Elks Lodge, 1279 Franklin Grove Road.

The instruction is designed for families dealing with autism, teachers, professionals, or anyone affected by the condition.

Advance registration is required. The cost is $40 for family members and $60 for professionals. Lunch is included. Continuing Education Credits are available for the professionals. Sign-in will begin at 8 a.m., followed by the seminar from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Dunn Buron will present “When My Autism Gets Too Big! Addressing Social Cognition and Emotional Regulation Using the Incredible Five-Point Scale and other Systems.” She will address three areas of need – social thinking, relationship building, and emotional regulation – that impact a person’s’ ability to function in school, home, and community.
