Group marks longtime service

AMBOY – Members of the Lee County Homemakers Education Association will attend the 90th anniversary of the annual Illinois Association for Home and Community Education State Conference from March 18 to 20 in Decatur.

This year’s theme will be “Been Cookin’ 90 Years.” Participants will choose from 45 lessons at the conference to share later with their home counties.

First known as the Home Bureau Federation for farm wives, the group now is about home and community education. Members promote social and economic well being. Last year, state members contributed 572,477 volunteer hours.
