Democrats plan JFK meal

DEER GROVE – A six-county coalition of Democratic Central Committees will present the first JFK dinner, to honor President John F. Kennedy, May 29 at Deer Valley Country Club, 3298 Hoover Road.

A cocktail hour with a cash bar will be from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by dinner. Committee members in Bureau, Carroll, Lee, Ogle, Rock Island, and Whiteside counties are the hosts.

Secretary of State Jesse White will be the keynote speaker. Oher politicians have been invited, such as Gov. Pat Quinn, Attorney General Lisa Madigan, and U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill.

Tickets are $100. Tables for eight can be purchased for $750 with a host designation and $1,500 with a sponsor designation.

Reservations are required before May 13.
