Business Notebook: Air Play owner buys Wine Cellar
STERLING – Tim McNinch, owner of the popular Air Play Sports & Espresso shop at 115 E. Third St., has bought the former Main Street Wine Cellar up the block at 1 E. Third.
No word yet on his plans for the downtown spot.
Financial planner makes a move
STERLING – Longtime local financial adviser William F. Sellers has moved his office from the Lee Wayne Plaza up the road to the shopping center that houses Eggs in Paradise, McCormick’s Nursery and Garden Center, and other businesses.
Sellers & Associates Inc, which provides investment, retirement and health care planning services, is at 3512 E. Lincolnway, in the spot occupied for a short time by Primp Your Pet grooming studio.
Sellers, 79, of Sterling, has been in business in Sterling since 1967. He also has a son carrying on the family tradition: W. Jeff Sellers has his own office in Davenport, Iowa.

Pining for the Pines?
MOUNT MORRIS – Feel your whistle getting wet? It might be because the popular White Pines Inn restaurant and dinner theater will open for the season on March 7.
The scenically located eatery, in White Pines State Park, 6712 White Pines Road, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, all day, every day.
Also opening that Friday are the cabins and gift shop.

New tattoo shop on the way
STERLING – The former Sauk Valley Clinic, at the southeast corner of West Third Street and Avenue G, is undergoing a transformation.
Shannon Scalise, of Fine Line Body Art fame, is busy remodeling for his new tattoo and body-piercing parlor.
