Drought is right choice

I support Joe Drought for Ogle County sheriff. Experience, integrity, and enthusiasm separate Joe.

As a chief of police, Joe manages and directs personnel, including office support staff and 21 sworn police officer positions while coordinating operations with Rockford area police departments and municipalities. Joe has created a departmental culture of trust, professionalism, and transparency.

Joe's professional record is spotless, and his integrity is beyond reproach. Joe has served the community by teaching youths, women, and various adult groups the art of self-defense and crime awareness. An interesting observation about Joe is that he is not part of a good-old-boy network – on either side of the county.

I recently read some misinformation that Joe is in this election only to earn a second pension. Although retirement is a distant reality for Joe, he couldn't take a second pension even if he wanted to. The state pension system would not allow it, and those allegations are nothing more than trumped-up nonsense.

Take a thorough look at the candidates' professional experiences, years of experience, and professional behavior, and look into the specific positions they have held. Joe is the right choice for Ogle County sheriff on March 18.
