New standards to be explained

DIXON – A free workshop, The Common Core and Students with Disabilities, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. March 20 at Kreider Services, 500 Anchor Road.

Participants will learn how the new Common Core State Standards will promote higher expectations for students with disabilities and will improve access to grade level learning standards. It is designed to increase the use of high quality, evidence-based, individualized instruction, and support services. The presenter will be Rhonda Best.

The training is available from Family Matters Parent Training & Information Center of Effingham and Kreider.

Light refreshments will be served. Those attending should enter through Door 4, by the white picket fence.
