LEAF RIVER – No students were hurt when a Forrestville Valley School District school bus hit a patch of ice Thursday morning and slid into a ditch, according to a news release from the Ogle County Sheriff's Department.

A school district representative said the bus was carrying about 40 elementary, junior and senior high school students when the bus left the road in the 6000 block of Lightsville Road.

Another bus was called, and the students were transferred to it.
