David Deter

MORRISON – David Deter, 67, of Morrison, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Edward Hines Jr. Veterans Affairs Hospital in Hines.

David was born May 22, 1946, in Morrison, to John and Marie (Pratzner) Deter. He worked at National Manufacturing Co. as a tool and die maker, retiring in 2000. David was a veteran of the Marines and served in the Vietnam War.

Survivors include two daughters, Denise (Antony) Deter of Dixon and Jessica (Paul) Ausman of Sterling; one son, Scott (Jo Ann) Flores-Deter of Chicago; three grandchildren, Lillian, Leonard, and Marlowe; one sister, Paula (Peter) Romano of Aurora; and two brothers, Timothy (Lynn) Deter and Theodore (Judy) Deter, both of Morrison.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
