Information sought in hit-and-run

STERLING – Sterling police continue to investigate a hit-and-run crash that took place Monday in the 1200 block of Locust Street.

Police responded to the scene at 1:14 p.m. Their initial investigation revealed that Michael Seidel, 66, of Rock Falls, was driving his 2006 Ford truck northbound when a white Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck struck his vehicle from behind. The S-10 then fled north on Locust Street, then west on East 13th Street. No injuries were reported.

The S-10 was described as being a regular, cab-style S-10 with an Illinois temporary registration plate. It received front end damage from the crash. The hit-and-run driver was described as a white male in his mid- to late-20s with dark brown hair and a normal build.
