The white surplus 2005 Chevy Impala being sold by the city of Morrison is up for bid through eBay Motors.

MORRISON – Old squad cars never die, they just smell that way (OK, stolen from some online joke site. So arrest me already).

Wanna buy a “tired” old cop car? Morrison’s selling one online.

The white surplus 2005 Chevy Impala “Police Package” is up for bid through eBay Motors. It’s item No. 161225541282 and is being sold as is, complete with air conditioning, automatic transmission and a cassette player. It has 122,224 hard-earned miles.

According to the post:

“Overall, vehicle is fair condition. Motor seems strong, new transmission but tired police vehicle! New GM transmission in 2011. Other new parts in 2013 are blower, cooling fan motor, crank sensor, radiator fans, steering pump and water pump. Interior seats and dash in good shape. Steering wheel wrap and flooring in poor condition. Exterior is good condition with one dent in right front fender. A little rust starting in front of rear wheel wells. Vehicle overall maintained well as a police vehicle.”

Bidding ends Feb. 21, and payment by cash or certified check is due within 7 days of the close of the auction, which also is when the car must be picked up.

“Overall, just a tired police vehicle that would make a good work vehicle!” the post says.

There’s no info on interior odor, if any. The starting bid is 500 smackeroos.

Go to www.ebaymotors.com to bid; call Chief Brian Melton, 815-772-7650 for more information.
