Weather spotter class scheduled

DIXON – A free severe storm spotter training class will be at 6:30 p.m. March 4 in Room 1K4 at Sauk Valley Community College, 173 state Route 2.

The training is expected to last 90 minutes. It is suitable for getting information on how to become a storm spotter, as a current spotter refresher course, or for those interested in personal safety.

A National Weather Service forecaster will present the slide and video program and discuss severe storm structure, how to identify cloud features, and environmental clues to identify severe storms and tornadoes.
