Council may change meeting time in Dixon

Published: Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014 1:15 a.m. CDT

DIXON – Dixon City Council might soon meet an hour earlier.

On Tuesday, during its regular meeting, the City Council will vote on whether to place an ordinance on file that would change the meeting time from 6:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The council meets the first and third Monday of each month, unless there’s a conflict, such as the upcoming meeting, which will be held on a Tuesday because of Presidents’ Day on Monday.

The time change, Mayor Jim Burke said, would make attending meetings more convenient for city staff and residents.

The City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, 121 W. Second St., on the second floor in the Council Chambers.
