Warriors hand Pirates 1st NIB-12 loss

Duchesses down Redskins on Senior Night at Lancaster

Kaitlyn Bauer scored 16 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead Sterling to a 42-32 victory against Ottawa on Monday at Musgrove Fieldhouse.

It was a makeup from a game postponed Jan. 31. Kiarra Harris added 12 points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots for Sterling (17-10, 6-3 NIB-12 West).

Jasmin Bailey scored nine points to lead Ottawa (19-4, 8-1), which connected on just 9 of 42 field goal attempts.

Dixon 55, Morris 39: Brooke Bailey hit 10 of 12 free throws and scored 20 points to lead the Duchesses past the Redskins in Lancaster Gym.

Also for Dixon (14-10), Carly Hartle scored nine points, and Maggie Bushman and Brittani Sohn added eight apiece.

Katie Friend led Morris with 12 points.

2A Oregon Regional

Fulton 63, West Carroll 32:
Kerrigan Enloe paced a balanced attack with 15 points as the Steamers routed the Thunder at the Blackhawk Center.

Also for Fulton (4-24), Faith Kennedy had 11 points, while Rachel Beiermann and Jordan Price added 10 each. The Steamers will take on Oregon tonight.

Tre Baisden and Abby Maike each scored seven points for West Carroll (3-23).

2A St. Bede Regional

Hall 41, Bureau Valley 36: The Storm couldn’t hold onto a 10-4 lead after one quarter, as the Red Devils led 18-13 by halftime before both teams scored 23 second-half points in the regional opener in Peru.

Nicole Bornsheuer had 11 points, five rebounds and two steals for BV (10-16), while Helena Osk Arnadottir added eight points, four boards and two steals. Carlie Bickett and Darcy Kepner scored six points apiece, with Bickett pulling down 12 rebounds, and Kepner chipping in four rebounds and two steals.

Ellen Hermann had 12 points, and Becca Hermann added 10 for Hall. Ellen added 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals, and Becca finished with five rebounds, four assists and two blocks.

Boys basketball

Bureau Valley 80, Amboy 68: The Storm led 27-12 after the opening 8 minutes and led the rest of the way in a Three Rivers North makeup win in Manlius.

Parker Neuhalfen had 21 points, and Ryan Young scored 16 for BV (17-8, 9-1).

Damon Quest’s 31 points accounted for nearly half of the scoring for the Clippers (2-18, 0-9), and he hit 13 of his 17 free throws. Jordan Ernst added 12 points.
