Please watch eagles, don’t chase them

It is tempting to try to get close-up shots of the eagles sitting in trees at the dam and Lawrence Park, but they will just take off and won’t come back for hours, sometimes days.

A lot of people are starting to come here from other cities to see our eagles, but many are disappointed because so many locals have chased them away.

Some people even drive off the road at the park to get a close-up view without any concern for the eagles or the park. Others walk on ice along the river without even knowing it.

Please give the eagles a little space on the point of the park and by the riverbank near the dam, and they will reward us with great viewing pleasure and tourism.

The best place to go is to the lower dam. If you are patient, they will fly right in front of you and maybe even grab a fish or put on a show with their flying maneuvers.

If there isn’t anything going on, just be patient; they will come, or just check back later. If there are no eagles around anywhere, it’s likely because someone was chasing eagles.
