DIXON – KSB Hospital’s Community Wellness and Cardiovascular departments are teaming up to present a Heart Healthy Evening on Thursday at the Dixon Elks Lodge.

The evening is being planned as an informational event during American Heart Month in February.

The KSB Medical Group’s three cardiologists, Dr. Laxman Iyer, Dr. Monther El Bzour and Dr. Sohail Hanif, as well as Wellness Dietitian Carrie Grobe, will participate in a question-and-answer session with members of the audience.

Informational tables also will be set up to distribute giveaways and heart-related literature. Departments or agencies participating include the Lee County Health Department, the Dixon Family YMCA, and KSB’s Cardiac Rehab, Pulmonary Rehab, Nuclear Medicine, and ECHO departments.

The doors open at 5 p.m., and the event begins with a light soup dinner that will include a heart-healthy wheat roll and an oatmeal cookie. The Q-and-A starts at 6 p.m.

The public is invited. There is no charge. However, if you plan on attending, please RSVP to 815-285-5990 or go to ksbhospital.com.
