The Polo Marcos bounced back from Monday's blowout loss to Aquin with a 51-40 NUIC East victory at Forreston.
Polo (20-4, 7-3) got 19 points from Brian Cavanaugh and 17 from AJ Dollmeyer. Brad Cavanuugh added 11 points for the Marcos, who led 15-14 at the half before outscoring the Cardinals (7-12, 3-5) 36-26 in the second half.
Stillman Valley 52, Oregon 47: The Hawks saw a 28-23 halftime lead slip away in a Big Northern West loss at Stillman Valley.
Trevor Gerig poured in 27 points to lead the Cardinals (6-15, 3-6). Trevor Otten hit five 3-pointers for 15 points to pace Oregon (4-17, 0-7). Jessie McKinley and Billy Heeg added 11 and 10 points, respectively, for the Hawks.
Eastland 39, Lena-Winslow 36: The Cougars outscored the Panthers 12-9 in the fourth quarter to eke out the NUIC West win at Lena.
Dalton Shaner scored 18 points and Skylar Paulson 15 for Eastland (17-3, 10-0).
Newman 78, Morrison 76: The Mustangs had six event wins to the Comets' five, but Newman's depth prevailed in a nip-and-tuck dual in Morrison.
Warren Melton led the Comets with two wins, taking the 200 freestyle (1:50.30) and 100 butterfly (56.07), while Aidan Bollman won the 100 freestyle (58.24 seconds), and Todd Nelson won the 100 breaststroke (1:14.34). Melton and Bollman teamed with Quinn Harrison and Robbie Hicks to take the 200 freestyle relay (1:45.10).
Kasey Hodge had two individual wins and two relay wins for the Mustangs, topping the field in the 50 freestyle (25.08) and 100 backstroke (1:05.05). Brian Slater won the 200 IM (2:30.35), and Kyle Workman won the 500 freestyle (5:59.95). Hodge teamed with Slater, Andrew Rinker and Sam Norman to take the 200 medley relay (2:03.67), and joined Rinker, Workman and Eric Sipes to win the 400 freestyle relay (3:54.14).
Black Hawk 71, Sauk 63: The Skyhawks saw a 30-17 lead slip away in a home loss to the Braves.
Carlos Hendrix, David Newton and Jacoby Posley scored 16 points apiece to pace Sauk (12-11, 4-4 Arrowhead). Hendrix also had nine assists.
Erie graduate Jordan Schaller helped Black Hawk's cause with 10 points.
