Outlook: Oregon with defending SVM player of the year, Sam Lambrigtsen, appear to be the clear favorites going into this regional. Morrison has made a nice step forward under second-year coach Tyler Whitebread. If players like Lakin Goodman and Chelsea Eads get hot, they could compete with the Hawks. Newman needs to play very good defense throughout to make a run.

Outlook: The Clippers have been the queens of the close-game victory this season, and it seems likely they'll have to win at least one close game to get out of this regional. Erie has been getting hot the last couple weeks, and has lost in a regional final the last 2 years. AFC is a sleeper with a big shot blocker in Prestegaard in the middle.

Outlook: While the Cougars are ranked No. 2 in Class 1A, this regional will not be a cakewalk. Sitting in the No. 2 seed is the two time defending state championship Aquin Bulldogs. Even beyond that are three teams with winning records. An off night against any of the teams could result in an unexpected early exit.
