February activities planned

STERLING – Programs continue this month at Whiteside County Senior Center, 1207 W. Ninth St.

Denise Wassenhove, the owner of Lean On Me in Moline, will speak at 11 a.m. Wednesday about “Organizing with Heart.” The program is free. Wassenhove will give tips on downsizing, rightsizing, and organizing a home.

Beginners and advanced scrapbookers can attend a scrapbooking class at 1 p.m. Thursday. The cost for materials is $5. Participants should bring scissors, double-sided tape or a glue stick, and four to six pictures. Registration is required.

A free Medicare information class will be at 1 p.m. Friday. Information will be provided to help those new to Medicare and those who want information to make a more informed decision when it comes to their options. Registration is required.

Movie and popcorn will be at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 28. “Eight Below,” will be shown, starring Paul Walker, Jason Biggs, and Bruce Greenwood. There is no charge.

Very Caring Professionals representatives will discuss heart health at 11 a.m. Feb. 28. Blood pressure, blood sugar, and oxygen levels will be measured.
