CHADWICK – Frances M. Weber was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren. She entered into eternity at the age of 85 on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Presence St. Joseph Center in Freeport.

Frances was born July 23, 1928, the daughter of Charles and Caroline (Johnson) Hartman in Chadwick. She graduated from Chadwick High School. Frances married Eugene E. Weber on July 31, 1949, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chadwick. When Frances wasn’t taking care of her family, she was hauling students around in her school bus from Chadwick, Milledgeville, and Thomson school districts. Frances was a lifelong member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, and sang in the church choir for more than 50 years.

Frances will be dearly missed by one son, Terry (Jane) Weber of Keller, Texas; a daughter, Debra (Bill) Palmquist of Freeport; five grandchildren, Rachel (Kevin) O’Dell, Adam (Joan) Weber, Catie Weber, and Ryan and Sarah Palmquist; and four great-grandchildren, Jason O’Dell, Christopher Weber, Allison Weber, and Kadence Sugg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; both parents; and a sister, LaVonne Aude Schlagenhaufen.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chadwick, followed by a luncheon gathering at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial will be at Chadwick Cemetery. Law-Jones Funeral Homes are handling arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chadwick.
