'Lincoln' showing scheduled at Morrison library

MORRISON – A free screening of "Lincoln," starring Daniel Day-Lewis as the 16th President, will be at 2 p.m. Feb. 18 at Odell Public Library, 307 S. Madison St.

The film was produced by Steven Spielberg, and partially was based on Doris Kearns Goodwin's book, "A Team of Rivals."

"Lincoln" opens in January 1865, as the president attempts to convince the House of Representatives to approve the 13th Amendment to the Constitution and abolish slavery in the U.S.
