ROCK FALLS – A boil order is in effect for residents in the 200 and 300 blocks of 21st Street in Rock Falls.

A weather-related water main break was the cause of Thursday's boil order.

As of 2:30 p.m. today, the water main still was being worked on. City water department officials said they didn't know when water samples could be sent away for analysis.

Updates will be available at the City of Rock Falls Facebook page. When the water is safe to use, people will be sent out to knock on doors in the affected area.
