DEKALB (AP) — DeKalb police say three officers are on paid administrative leave after a Malta man was shot and killed.

The Daily Chronicle in DeKalb reports (http://bit.ly/1n1miKl ) 28-year-old Cameron D. Lupton died Tuesday after being shot in the neck.

Police say Lupton was shot when officers found him attacking his father and step-mother at home in DeKalb.

The two were taken to Kishwaukee Hospital with multiple stab wounds.

Authorities haven't said what prompted the attack.

DeKalb police Chief Gene Lower says it appears officers correctly used force. But Illinois State Police will conduct an investigation into the shooting.
