ROCK FALLS – Authorities are searching for four men in connection with a home invasion last week.
The men "made contact" with the occupants of a rural Rock Falls home, then forced their way in about 2 a.m. Jan. 23, said John Booker, a detective with the Whiteside County Sheriff's Department. Inside the home were a man and a small child.
The Sheriff's Department hasn't identified three of the suspects yet, but it got a warrant for Dominique DeJesus, 42. If he is captured, his bond would be set at $500,000, which was so high because of DeJesus' criminal record, Booker said.
DeJesus was described as 6 feet, 3 inches tall and 225 pounds and as having black hair and brown eyes. His last known address is in Sterling, where he lived at least 2 years, Booker said.
A weapon was involved in the crime, Booker said, but he declined to describe it. He also wouldn't give a more precise location of the home, where a man and a small child were at the time.
The victims didn't appear to know the suspects, he said.
Anyone with information about the crime is urged to call the Whiteside County Sheriff's Department at 815-772-4044 or Crime Stoppers at 815-625-7867.
