Blood drive set for Friday

Published: Thursday, Jan. 30, 2014 1:15 a.m. CDT

ROCK FALLS – The American Red Cross will host a blood drive Friday amid an urgent need for blood.

Citizens are encouraged to donate from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars post, 217 First Ave.

The urgency for donations was caused by bad weather, which this month has led to cancellations of more than 450 blood drives and nearly 14,000 uncollected blood and platelet donations.

Donors will receive a free T-shirt.

For more information, or to make an appointment, go to www.redcrossblood.org, email Raigan Grane at raigan.grane@redcross.org, or call 815-625-8510.
