FOUNTAIN INN, S.C. – Shirlene I. Yamnitz, 84, of Fountain Inn, formerly of Morrison, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, at Fountain Inn Nursing Home. She worked in the banking industry for the majority of her life.

Shirlene was born Feb. 10, 1929, in Morrison, the daughter of John and Ida (Wagenecht) Bierman. She married Warren C. Cox on March 20, 1949, in Morrison. He preceded her in death on June 20, 1955. She married Donald H. Yamnitz on April 6, 1958, in Chadwick. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1989. She was a member of Oneco United Methodist Church in Oneco, Fla.

Survivors include one niece, Carol (Dave) Fosdick of Savanna; one nephew, Arlyn L. (Trenna) Larson of Fountain Inn; one grandniece; and one grandnephew.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sandra Yamnitz; one son, Barry Cox; two sisters, Marian J. Larson and Evelyn Maxfield; two brothers-in-law, Maurice Larson and Johnny Maxfield; and one niece.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ryan Sutton, pastor of Morrison United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be at Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison.

Memorials have been established.
