Airmen complete basic training

Air Force Airman Jose L. Cervantes and Air National Guard Airman First Class Jeremy L. Harris have graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio.

The airman completed an intensive, 8-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete this training earn four credits toward an Associate in Applied Science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Cervantes is the son of Mary and Jose Cervantes of Sterling. He is a 2012 graduate of Rock Falls High School.

Harris, who earned distinction as an honor graduate, is the son of Don Harris and Anne Walter, both of Dixon. He is a 2013 graduate of Dixon High School
