Sterling High School Student of the Month: Taylor Hall

Taylor Hall, 17, of Sterling, is Sterling High School's female Student of the Month for November. Her favorite class is band – "we make awesome music every day" – and she plans to study fashion business and marketing at Columbia College in Chicago.

Senior Taylor Hall, 17, of Sterling, is Sterling High School’s female Student of the Month for November. She is the daughter of Kathy and Greg Hall, and has a brother, Trevor, 20, a junior at Trine University in Angola, Ind.

Favorite class: Band, because Mr. [Mike] McCoy always has great words of wisdom to share with the class, and we make awesome music every day.

Top teacher: Jennifer Drew. She is always willing to listen and give advice. She makes learning fun.

Extracurriculars: Band, poms, theater, National Honor Society

After graduation: I will attend Columbia College in Chicago to study fashion business and marketing.

Paycheck: I teach dance and choreograph for the summer musical at Woodlawn Arts Academy.

Best friend: Leti Estrada – she is the sister I never had.

Favorite singer or musical group: Mumford & Sons, but Haim is a close second.

Favorite actor: Jennifer Lawrence

Favorite movie: “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”

Favorite TV show: “Pretty Little Liars “

Hobbies: Shopping, dancing, traveling, hanging out with friends

Favorite activity: Swimming

Favorite food: Anything Italian or Mexican

Biggest fear: Creepy-crawly things

What makes your blood boil? People who don’t realize how privileged they are.

What kind of music makes your skin crawl? Heavy metal

Hangout: Air Play Sports, because it has the best coffee and scones.

High school s urvival guide: Get to know your teachers, get involved, and don’t be afraid to try new things.

Useless knowledge: Logarithms

I’m in the dictionary next to: Positivity, because my cup is always half full!

Secret twin: Rachel Zoe, because we both love fashion.

Personal trivia: I’ve been to Disney World 11 times.

Dream job: Pastry chef, because then I could actually bake things without burning them.

Trading places: With Rachel Zoe, so I could travel the world while learning all of her styling secrets.

Trading spaces: I’d go to Paris, Milan, London and back to New York, because they are the fashion capitals of the world.
