Three hurt in Saturday rollover

OGLE COUNTY – Three people received minor injuries Saturday in a single-vehicle rollover crash at state routes 26 and 72.

Ogle and Carroll county sheriff’s deputies, with Forreston fire and ambulance, Shannon fire, and Midwest Ambulance personnel, responded to the scene at 10:23 a.m. A Toyota Sequoia driven by Peter Kallas, 82, of Stockton, was northbound on Route 26 when Kallas lost control of the vehicle, striking a snowbank. The Sequoia rolled over onto its side in the roadway.

Kallas and his two passengers, Jo Ann Kallas, 75, and an 11-year-old girl, both of Stockton, were taken to FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport by Forreston and Midwest Ambulance personnel. The accident remains under investigation.

One injured in three-vehicle crash Saturday

OGLE COUNTY – A Forreston resident was hurt Saturday in a three-vehicle crash on state Route 26 North.

Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies, with Forreston fire and Polo ambulance personnel, responded to the scene at 11:12 a.m. A Pontiac Vibe driven by Steven Kennedy, 61, of Freeport, was entering Route 26 from a private drive when a southbound Chevrolet Malibu driven by Haley DeVries, 19, of Forreston struck Kennedy’s vehicle. DeVries’ vehicle spun into the east ditch. DeVries’ Malibu also struck the rear of a northbound Dodge Dakota driven by Gregg Downs, 60, of Polo.

DeVries sustained minor injuries in the crash, and was taken to FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport by Polo EMS. The accident remains under investigation.
