Loren ‘Scotty’ Wescott

AUBURN, Ala. – Loren “Scotty” Wescott, 54, of Auburn, formerly of Sterling, died Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Ala.

Born Nov. 20, 1959, in Morrison, he was a son of Lewis H. and Lillian Lou (Stees) Wescott Sr. Scotty was the assistant chief of logistics at Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System for 8 years. He graduated from Sterling High School in 1977 and served in the Army.

Those left to honor his memory include two sons, Lucas B. Wescott of Tallahassee, Fla., and Zeb (Kayla Lawrence) Wescott of Ogden, Utah; a brother, Lewis (Kathy) Wescott of Sterling; a sister, Laureen “Laurie” Kent of Wisconsin; a grandson, Landyn Wescott; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Lois Wescott.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Cremation rites will be accorded. Burial of cremains with with full military honors will be in the spring at Tampico Memorial Cemetery.

Contributions in his memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
