Would-be governors to speak at Reagan dinner
DIXON – Three of the four men seeking the Republican nomination for governor will be among the featured speakers at the 25th annual Reagan Day Dinner next month.
State Treasurer Dan Rutherford and state Sens. Kirk Dillard and Bill Brady will attend the Feb. 7 event at Dixon Elks Lodge, 1279 Franklin Grove Road. U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, who represents Lee County from the 16th District, also will be a featured speaker.
Brady was the Republican Party’s nominee for governor in 2010. He, Rutherford, Dillard and businessman Bruce Rauner are vying for the party’s nomination to challenge incumbent Democrat Pat Quinn in the Nov. 4 general election. The primary is March 18.
Social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m., with the dinner at 6:30. The event is open to the public. Tickets cost $45 a person and include a meal.
