MESA, Ariz. – Sylvia McMullen of Mesa began her Easter life Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013. She was 95.

Sylvia was born in Osakis, Minn., and married Beirne McMullen in 1940. They had 63 years of married life before Beirne’s death in 2003. All of her children had Daily Gazette routes during their years growing up. While living in the Sterling, Rock Falls area, she was a pink lady at CGH Medical Center and was active in Catholic parishes.

Sylvia is survived by her daughters, Penny McMullen, Sisters of Loretto of Nerinx, Ky., Kathleen (Louis) Accola of Mesa, and Ginny (Harvey) Lucca-Jacks of Spicewood, Texas; one son, Tim McMullen of Austin, Texas; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Beirne; her son, Terry McMullen; and his wife, Rosemary.

Sylvia donated her body to science. A memorial service will be Feb. 8 at Mesa Good Shepherd Chapel, 5848 E. University Drive, Mesa, Ariz.
