One hurt Sunday in single-van crash

LEE COUNTY – A Polo man received minor injuries Sunday in a single-vehicle crash on Mound Hill Road, .5 miles south of Paris Road.

State police investigated the crash at 5:51 p.m. A minvan driven by Cheri L. Allen, 40, of Polo, was northbound on Mount Hill Road when Allen lost control. The van traveled across the opposite lane of traffic, entered the west ditch, and came to rest on its side.

A passenger in the van, Brandon M. Reynolds, 40, of Polo, was injured in the crash. He, with Allen, was taken to CGH Medical Center in Sterling by Twin Comm ambulance. Two children, an 8-year-old girl and a 1-year-old boy, were taken to CGH for observation. Their conditions were unavailable Thursday. Allen was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
