BRIGHTON, Colo. – Christie Lynn Tromp, 60, of Brighton, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014.
Christie was born March 1, 1953, to Dale Arthur Mead and Mary Lou Miller in Sterling. She was an over-the-road truck driver for 22 years.
Christie was a loving mother of three. She loved her children, especially her granddaughter, more than anything. She was a sweet, gentle, happy spirit, touching the lives of everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. After a tough battle with cancer, she finally is at peace with the Lord.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Lou Mead of Aledo; sons, Adam Pettenger of Lakewood, Colo., and Kent Pettenger of Kersey, Colo.; daughter, Wendy (Bruce) Miller of Erie, Colo.; brother, Randy Mead of Aledo; sister, Karen Berg of Rock Falls; and granddaughter, Makenna Miller.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dale Arthur Mead.
An open house in celebration of her life will be from 1 to 4 p.m., with a time of sharing at 3 p.m., Saturday at Colorado National Golf Club, 2700 Vista Parkway, Erie, Colo. M.P. Murphy and Associates Funeral Home in Boulder, Colo., is handling arrangements.
