Timothy J. Weaver

ROCK FALLS – Timothy J. Weaver, 58, of Rock Falls, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, at his home.

He was born on Dec. 20, 1955, in Sterling, the son of Jack L. and Alice L. (Byvick) Kurns. Following the death of his father, his mother married Harry W. Weaver, at which time he adopted the last name Weaver. Tim married Gayle L. Spencer on May 12, 1979, in Rock Falls. Tim had worked at the former Daubert Coated Products (Loparex) in Dixon for 25 years, and then at Hartland Controls in Rock Falls for 4.5 years. He was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rock Falls. He coached basketball and football for several years.

Surviving are his wife, Gayle; their sons, Dustin (Gina) Weaver of Lisle, and Dylan Weaver (Kimberley Gilger) of Lake in the Hills; his grandchildren, McKenzie, Ireland, and Collins; his father, Harry Weaver of Sterling; his sister, Luann Wolber of Rock Falls; his nieces, Martha Mauch and Jenna Wolber; and his nephews, Tom Spencer, Cody Weaver, and Jake Wolber.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Kurns; his mother, Alice Weaver; and his twin brother, Thomas Weaver.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Ave., Rock Falls. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rock Falls, with the Rev. Henrietta Milner officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
