Recitals to showcase local talent at church in Sterling

STERLING – Woodlawn Arts Academy music students will have a chance to be on stage during the Academy’s Winter Music Recitals, set for 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church, 703 Third Ave.

With the continued growth of the Academy’s music programs, this is the first year for two winter music recitals.

“The Woodlawn Arts Academy staff is excited to offer our students this important performance opportunity,” said Becky Rich, program coordinator in a news release.

The recitals will feature vocal and instrumental students of all ages, under the instruction of Rhonda Hulteen, Mardi Huffstutler, Tony Regalado, Jennifer Seeley and Janel Stahr.

Admission is free to both recitals.

The next session of private music lessons begins January 27. Call 815-626-4278 or visit the Academy, 3807 Woodlawn Road, to register.

Financial assistance is available to those who qualify.
